Obama Administration Shadow Government Czars
Obama’s administration had appointed over 50 czars, many who report directly to the president, thereby circumventing the approval, scrutiny, and oversight by the Congress in most cases. One czar (Van Jones) is a self-proclaimed Communist who resigned in the wee hours of the morning on September 6, 2009, after serving for a little over seven months.
Karole Dolen-Proffit (2009) of the Sacramento Conservative Examiner wrote, “Despite Obama’s campaign promises, his ever growing list of self-appointed ‘Czars’ speaks volumes about his true intentions. These people have all been selected to oversee everything from the closing of the Guantanamo Bay detention facility to the restoration of the Great Lakes, all without Congressional oversight or approval.”
